C&R Press Winter Soup Bowl 2022 Chapbook Awardee, Shortlist, and Longlist

C&R Press publishes 2-6 chapbooks of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction and other creative genres each year through our Winter Soup Bowl Chapbook and Summer Tide Pool Chapbook series. Manuscript authors selected for publication receive ten copies of the book, a $100 dollar honorarium, $500 social media and ad network promotional campaign.

About the Author of tommy_noun

Maurya Kerr is a bay area-based writer, artist, and educator. Her poetry has been nominated for a Pushcart prize and appears in multiple journals, including Magma Poetry, Tupelo Quarterly, and an anthology, The Future of Black: Afrofuturism, Black Comics, and Superhero Poetry. Much of her artistic work—across the disciplines of language, movement, and film—is focused on black and brown people reclaiming their birthright to both wonderment and the quotidian. Maurya was chosen by Jericho Brown as a runner-up in Southern Humanities Review’s 2021 Auburn Witness Poetry Prize, and her chapbook, MUTTOLOGY, is forthcoming with Harbor Editions in 2023. Maurya was a 2021/22 UC Berkeley ARC (Arts Research Center) Poetry & the Senses Fellow.
